 Honor & Praises

To our Lord who is doing great miracles inside the prisons and is setting people free

as a fruit of your prayers.

We want to share with you a one day story of His Grace and Everlasting love.

It was a sunny December day. Rays of light played on the leaves as we drove the mountain road among the green trees & lovely woods of the Carmel range, heading to The Carmel prison. The sea with its glittering blue color laid in the valley bellow us. Birds were singing as they were flying from one branch to another, splashing what remained of water from yesterday’s rain.

Arriving at the gate we passed the normal check and were led by the Rabbi responsible there, to the prison’s education center to wait for the inmates. "There's 20 of them" he said and went into the different wards inviting those from Christian background to attend the “Christmas party”. Anis stopped by the prison canteen to buy 20 presents, each had snacks for almost 40NIS, as we, the other part of the group, started playing music and singing to prepare the environment and invite the Holy Spirit to fill the place. After one whole hour prisoners started coming guarded by a police man.

We counted one........two ......... three................................Here comes the fourth..............., should we start singing or shoul we wait for others ???

We understood that the others do not intend to come. Different reasons yet those who came were the chosen for that day to hear more about the Lord. Their hearts were a good land ready for the seeds of the message of salvation to be sown. They joyfully sang with us, were privately talked to and prayed for then waving goodbye to them we gave them presents, Bibles and Christian literature, also for the 16 who didn’t arrive and promised to come back soon for a follow up and a Bible study.

Bigger number attended in other prisons. A different joyous experience and more of the Lord’s grace was/ is seen every visit as those who had hard hearts the years before decided this year that they needed “A Savior” “The only Savior”. Our eyes welled with tears as an inmate, 65yrs, who 3 years ago, for a very trifle reason lost his mind and killed 2 young men, confessed his sin for the first time, repented, prayed and accepted Jesus in his heart. Our wonderful savior had even prepared him earlier so he came to the meeting with some sweets and drinks feeling we were his guests and he wanted to honor us “physically” yet our Mighty God planned to honor us “spiritually” too.

Foreign workers’ prison, had almost 400++. Higher security than years before. It hurt us deep inside that we had to sing for them as they were locked inside their rooms/cells of 10-14 trying to see us through the bars of the little opening in the door. We spoke to them, short messages in their different languages as we had the proper believers with a  heart and tongue  on our team. The cell door was opened only for giving them presents and books in their own mother tongues

More fruit

Being at a Christmas party in one of the churches in Haifa, Anis rushed me, Nawal, to greet some people. To my excitement, I saw two Ex- prisoners now born again, committed members in a church, each married and one couple already had a son.

“We gave our life to Jesus back in prison”  they shared “and ever since we are New!!

Please Pray for the new believers. Also for those violent prisoners who are always in chains. Anis was allowed to visit two of them in different prisons. The authorities could see the difference. They became calmer and by the grace of the Lord they unbound one of them when Anis insisted as he was there praying for him. They didn’t respond to Anis’s request in the other prison so he promised the prisoner to come back the coming week and try again, on condition that the prisoner controlled his anger and proved his good intention.
